Writer Development -
There are several writer specific opportunities within the Lyric Lounge programme:
Saturday 25th
11am – 1 pm
FREE
Poet and editor Wayne Burrows introduces a reading from The Protein
Songs, a sequence of poems commissioned by Retina Dance Company for
adaptation into choreography in their 2006 performance Eleven Stories
For The Body, Distance To Our Soul, followed by film footage of the
dance created from the words.
After coffee, there will be an opportunity to hear about Staple
magazine, and all are invited to ask such awkward questions as what
editors look for, how work gets chosen, and why running a small press so
often resembles a kind of controlled chaos.
Sunday 26th
11 am – 12
Coffee and Characters. FREE
Writer and Hello Hubmariner, Aimee Wilkinson and Notting Writers
Studio’s Ali Stoneman bring you ‘Character Box’, a practical fiction
writing workshop designed to get the creative juices flowing, inviting
you to discuss the different aspects of a character and inspire you with
a different approach to find the beginnings to a whole new story.
There are other workshops available including one with Lucy English so
